Scarefest 2011, day 1

Day 1
My cousin Barb & I got into Lex Friday mid afternoon, dropped our bags at the Hilton & headed across the street to the convention center to get our armbands and get in line. When the doors opened the first place we went was, no, not the GAC booths, but to sign up for a ghost hunt on Saturday night. hehe. Which was a good thing because as I was talking to Miss Patti who runs the con, Barb went 'omg look!' and in walks Zak Bagans. I maintained long enough to say hi, and then proceeded to plotz when he was gone. I was a bit embarrassed. I'm from Nashville and we just don't plotz. But dayum, peeps, the man is even finer in person.
We prowled the con for a while. The other highlight of the afternoon for me was getting to meet Aron Houdini, the last decsendent of the great Harry. I'm a big magic buff from way back so that was awesome for me! Then we found some supper, went back to our room and watched GAC's season premiere. (anybody besides me pleased that Zak finally admitted he was bullied as a kid? Another thing I'd already figured out.) Then we dressed for the costume party. I went as a Victorian ghost hunting lady, corset and all, and Barb was Sookie from True Blood. The bar was packed but everybody was so nice! We got something to drink and leaned against a pool table and admired everybody's costumes. And then, yup, in walked Zak with some friends (we didn't know them at the time) They met another guy who we didn't know at the time either :D and the whole group landed...about 18 inches from where we'd been for half an hour. 0_0 And stayed there. The other guys turned out to be Jay, who works on the show (and also seems to be kind of Zak's right hand man/PA) and Christian Gabriel and Adam Michaels, Aaron Goodwin's artist friends.
They were so freakin normal, it was wonderful. Aaron came in a while later and they all just hung and talked and goofed off. Zak is the king goofoff btw! Jay said something once and Zak reached over and messed his hair all up. Another time the dj was playing slow stuff and Zak hollered out to complain. lol! Then they got some fast music going, and get this, he started blowing across the top of his beer bottle playing along. I giggled out loud, and his eyes flicked over and met mine. GUH. His eyes are hazel btw, which is why you see some people say they are blue and some green. Either way, they are intense and gorgeous. He was wearing a black zip up jacket and pants, and Aaron was just wearing a t shirt and jeans. I'm a lil shy (what do you mean, no way? lol) so I just sat back and observed for a while; Barb talked to both of them a bit,. Then we both got to talking with Adam and Christian, who are both adorable and fascinating and awesome. Adam had a guy going to get them a bottle of tequila for later, but when he got it the bar manager took it away from him (couldn't bring liquor into the bar apparently), and we all tried to talk the guy out of it. lol
Anyway, Aaron slipped out to get a smoke :( Adam went looking for Kane Hodder (Jason from Fri the 13th, and a Hollywood Ghost Hunter) to help them kill the tequila :D and we were standing by the door talking to some people when somebody mumbled 'excuse me' and turned sideways to slide past me, since as I said the bar was packed...and yes, my friends, there was Zak Bagans' magnificent butt scooting across my hips as he squeezed past me to get to the door! I just stood there mesmerized and watched the wing tips of his back tat move past my eyes. srsly. hehe. Barb & I were both running out of steam so we headed out too--Aaron was standing outside with some people and as we went by I said 'night Aaron, see ya tomorrow' and he looked around and said 'night ladies, see ya!' We did manage to get out of the convention center before we shrieked like lil fangurrls all the way back to the room!
This is taking a lot longer than I thought...will have to post in installments, I see. Day 2 coming soon, in which among other things, I warn a clown to steer clear of Zak, and make Aaron squee.
